Part 1
“Holidays…Are They Biblical Or Not”
Holidays are they Biblical or Not? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to show or prove the Christianity or the Evil Paganism roots of the major holidays that are celebrated as all to be Christian Holidays. If they are or have Christian origins, then we should celebrate them. If they are of Pagan origin, then by no means should we celebrate any of them. I say this because, nothing with an evil origin should be twisted nor manipulated to be of God and celebrated as such. If so, then we are no different from the evil one himself Satan. For, is not those Satan’s very tactics to take what God created for good and twist, manipulate and pervert it for evil. Let’s get started with the biggest or most celebrated holiday of the year by Christians. In fact, it’s said to be the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas time. What exactly does the term Christmas mean? The popular greeting for this holiday is “Merry Christmas”. This slogan is comprised of three Latin terms, merry, Christ, and mas. Merry means happy, Christ means messiah or savior, and mas means elimination or dismissal. So, Merry Christmas in its original context means, Happy Messiah Elimination or Happy Savior’s Dismissal. Christmas is believed by many Christians as the birthday of Jesus the Christ. How ironic is that, as too what Christmas actually means? Christians choose to celebrate this holiday on December 25th. They save up their money over extend themselves and fall into debt to celebrate that one-day Christmas. In recent history, they have been fighting and killing one another over toys that they wish to buy for their children for Christmas and after all of that, they then tell their children Santa Claus gave you those toys. I ask you where is the Christ in all of this? Oh, I know where he is, He’s not there, for they have eliminated Him from the start. Let us see if we find Christ in the main character of Christmas since Christ was already eliminated Him in the title of the holiday. Christian’s claim the main character of Christmas or the reason for the season is Jesus the Christ, but the main character in Christian homes as well as secular homes is Santa Claus not Jesus Christ. Another issue with the most wonderful time of the year is that crime increases. A 2013 report by CNN illustrates the general principle that home burglaries increase across the nation during the holiday season. They utilized FBI data from 2011 to compile their report. That data showed: Nationally, burglaries peak during the summer but also trend upwards in December. California alone saw an 18% increase in burglaries in December 2011. Some cities experienced their greatest number burglaries in the two weeks following Christmas. Philadelphia is a great example of that last statistic. In 2011, police responded to 194 burglaries reported during the final two weeks of December as opposed to an average of 143 for the last two weeks of the preceding five months. Those who make a living observing criminal trends say it all makes perfect sense. People tend to travel between Christmas and New Year’s, leaving behind many of the expensive gifts they unwrapped on Christmas morning. It is a lucrative combination that burglars cannot resist. Police say it is difficult to recover all of the stolen items even when burglars are caught. Statistics bears that out. According to the numbers from the FBI, the average loss of a Christmas-related home burglary is more than $1,600. Burglars make off with everything from televisions to smartphones to computers.
