Part 1 of “Who Are You”
Anthropology
Anthropology is defined by google as the study of human societies and cultures and their development and the study of human biological and physiological characteristics and their evolution. In Greek ἄνθρωπος • (ánthrōpos) m, f (genitive ἀνθρώπου); second declension (Epic, Attic, Ionic, Doric, Koine) human being, person (as opposed to gods); man, woman Antonym: θεός (theós).[1] So, I am going to go with the Greek definition and study man, but not just any man, but the so called African American man/woman.
I chose this particular topic, because as a so called African American I personally have a stake in knowing who am I and where am I from. I know what I have been told about myself, my heritage, my ancestors and my beginning, but it is hard for me to believe this knowledge as it comes from my oppressors. The oppressors have lied about everything else, why would I trust any information concerning my heritage coming from them.
What did they lie about? I am glad you asked. Let me start with what color Jesus is as the greatest lie and from there I could go on and on. I will not list all the holidays that they have lied about just a few. For instance, Christmas is Jesus’ birthday; then they even misused the Bible to keep my people enslaved. Yeah, I had to go there. Many people ask, why we the so-called African American do not just forgive and forget and just move on. Well, to all those who says such a thing. I ask this question, “why do you not tell the so-called Jews to forget the Holocaust”? After all the Holocaust lasted all of twelve years, but slavery lasted for four hundred years. Which one should be easier to forgive and forget?
With a history as such we as a people must find out who we are and most importantly whose we are. Therefore, I am taking on the challenge of finding out the truth about who I am and where I am from.
